Peace

Peace
April 30, 2020 by Chaffawn Smith

“Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be.” – Wayne W. Dyer

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”  – Colossians 3:15

Cultured is a community where we’ve grown from knowing each other. We’ve become increasingly motivated by love and peace: peace within our hearts and peace with each other. This peace has helped us to gear up as leadership changes and as learn how to communicate with each other for the better.

On Thursdays, the students share their thoughts about what’s going on in their lives with us. No matter if it’s peaceful or not, we talk about it and refocus it around the thought of “How can God make it better?”

The first week of April, we talked with the students about how they were created with a purpose.

The second week was focused around exploring who God is and why we can boast in Him. The third week, we talked about how to live in the light and not in darkness. These topics brought peace to the hearts and minds of our students as they know who they are and who God is to them.

One of the students said, “I walked outside and realized I was blessed today.” They continued by saying that they were blessed and healthy and how God had allowed them to be encouraging to others. I am amazed by how God has let us witness Him talking to these students in the midst of the storm. God is bringing peace to this ministry and to this community!

Pray

  • Pray for new interns for this next year of ministry.
  • Pray that even though we are still quarantine, the kids don’t get bored with connecting digitally and that we as a ministry can come up with fun ideas .
  • Pray for our community as many people will be still missing work and not have the funds to take care of their families.
  • Pray for our leadership as we are looking for a new Executive Director.

Discover our story. We are not perfect people, but God is continuing to mold us in His image. Watch our stories in the videos below.
