Faith, Hope, & Love

Faith, Hope, & Love
March 25, 2020 by Chaffawn Smith

Faith
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. – Proverbs 3:5-6

Hope
For I know the plans for you , declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11

Love
There is no fear in love, But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. – 1 John 4:18-19

Faith, Hope, & Love
Love never fails, But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away….. – 1 Corinthians 13:8

And now these three remain faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13

Over the past month, many of our students have dealt with fear, anger, hopelessness, and doubt due to COVID-19. This has caused us to step in and be there for them as a family in even more ways. School is canceled, church is canceled, and programming is canceled. Despite all of this, we realize Jesus is not canceled and the ministry of Faith, Hope, and Love helps us to stand firm and move forward knowing that ministry is not canceled.

We are currently doing virtual ministry throughout the week. Our students were so excited to interact with each other again, but disappointed at the social distancing rules in place that keep us from meeting in person. The hardest part of all of this is knowing that my seniors will not have a graduation ceremony or prom. In the meantime, YFC is brainstorming ideas to celebrate them during this time. If you have ideas or want to support this effort financially, please contact me.

Furthermore, we are dedicated to our youth and want to spread as much joy and happiness as we can in this dark time.

PRAY

  • Pray for students who may be dealing with domestic violence.
  • Pray for students who are idle and bored – that they won’t engage in sinful acts that can change their future.
  • Pray that we remain faithful and check in with our students.
