MINISTRY & COVID-19

Serving & Loving our Community

As our local area continues to feel the impacts of COVID-19, we’ve pivoted our ministry efforts to care for our community in a new and different way.  While you won’t find our staff leading programs at Cultured Studios with youth in person, you will find us engaging in conversations with youth digitally over Zoom.  You’ll find us entering into conversations about current events, processing grief, and moving forward in hope.

One of the basic needs our students and families are facing is the need for groceries.  With many parents unable to work or facing reduced hours, simply meeting monthly expenses is an enormous challenge.

To meet the needs in our community, we partner with other local organizations to provide food for families and students in Rainier Beach on Tuesdays and Thursdays. “Feed the Beach” led by WA-BLOC, one of our community partners, gives out over 200 meals twice a week to our community along with boxes of groceries in an effort to serve and love our community.

During this time, we will also be providing additional help to students as they work through distance learning. This includes opening our space at Emerald City Bible Fellowship on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 4pm to allow students to receive academic support and tutoring with a reliable internet connection. Space is limited due to social distancing requirements and all attendees will be required to wear masks at all times. Email cultured@seattleyfc.org if you would like to attend one of these sessions.

We’re thankful for your continued support as we look to love, serve, and minister to the people of South Seattle.
